Scarf Design: Women Collecting Water by Christine Doolan
Dreamtime:
Christine is a well-established Aboriginal Artist. M&S Textiles Australia printed some of her works in the past. ‘Women Collecting Water’ is one of her best artworks. Her depiction of waterholes, women sitting with digging sticks, bush foods, flowers, etc. are detailed and decorative.
Water is very precious in the Northern Territory. Aboriginal people know how to get water from underground. Also, they watch wild bird’s movements in some areas to locate the availability of water nearby. However, Alice Spring can experience heavy rainfall in the summer months. Just after the rain, you can witness abundant of beautiful flower blossom almost everywhere in various colors. The beautiful array of colors is a memorable experience. Christine depicted the natural scenic view very well with women sitting on the ground with digging sticks seeking water all around.

Love this so much! When this fabric sold out on Etsy, I did a quick search on Etsy, & found it here at a fantastic price! This will probably become part of a quilt for one of my grandbabies. Love, love, love!
