This beautiful artwork depicts aboriginal women collecting Bush Tucker in the desert landscape. Bush tucker consists of various food sources such as witchety grubs and bush plums that are symbolically depicted in the artwork. This is a rare style of aboriginal painting that merges aboriginal artwork of symbols with landscape painting.



About the artist:

Donna works in a community centre in Tjuwanpa, Hermannsburg near Alice Springs. She comes from a region where aboriginal artists have specialised in art of landscape painting. Famous landscape aboriginal artist Albert Namatjira was also from this region.
