Description
Design: Yalke by June Smith
About the Artist: June is a well-known artist in Santa Teresa. She was born in Alice Springs in 1960 and attended school in Alice Springs. She is one of the first women in Santa Teresa community to paint on silk. At present she paints for Keringke Arts in Santa Teresa. She belongs to Eastern Arrernte group.
Dreamtime behind the Design: Spectacular views of various creatures such as birds and frogs, and different vegetation can be viewed in the Yalke or wetlands of Australia, both in dry or wet seasons. In the dry season, vast water mass goes back to permanent wetlands, waterholes etc. and become home for waterfowls and many other migratory birds of Australia. In the wet, birds like magpies and geese congregate on the wetland or Yalke. June, with a vibtant color sense, has brilliantly depicted this design with Aboriginal symbols and signs out of her dreamtime story.

Numerous businesses market Aboriginal designed creations. Warrina Designs is distinguished by its exceptionally well curated selections and outstanding customer service. Products they offer under each category–art, fabric, carpets, scarves, ties, table runners, hats–feature the best of the best, which makes shopping easy at affordable price points. I needed gifts for an engaged couple in time for their wedding, and found the perfect set. I also expressed my sincere hopes and best wishes for the bride and groom. The thoughtful people at Warrina Designs transformed my comments into a beautiful card. They then upgraded the shipping I chose from standard delivery to express to insure that the present arrived on time–free of charge! The unexpected attention their staff paid to details such as these, place them in the top tier of businesses, since they think of ways to enhance the quality of the customer’s experience. Beautiful selections, thoughtful staff, exceptional service: a rare combination in today’s business world. Thank you!

I have purchased a 10×10 inch fabric pack (40 pieces), two 5×5 inch packs (96 pieces in total) and three fabric packs. The designs are beautiful – bright and striking. The fabric itself is of fantastic quality, and feels amazing. I will definitely be coming back if I am working on any other designs requiring aboriginal prints.
